Characteristics - This Salamander appears to be 6 - 8 inches long with black stripes or "blotches". The Body is generally small with a large head and small eyes. Obviously, the way that this creature is built is mostly to make sure it isn't seen, so it can catch prey and make sure that it isn't prey.

Food - Well, they don't eat much, most of their diet is carnivorous, with earthworms, frogs and mice. It just hunts, that's how it gets it's food. It hides with camoflauge and then all of a sudden it jumps you. Although, another interesting thing is that they don't have eardrums, so they use their feet to "hear" sounds.

Reproduction - Eggs are laid in the springtime and usually hatch by the end of summer, with about 25 - 50 eggs laid in a deposit. Then, the larvae go into the water to begin their lives.

A day in the life of The Blotched Tiger Salamander. Well, I wake up, and I decide I'm hungry, but not very hungry, because I don't eat alot. I start walkin around, feeling vibrations in my feet as I hunt for food, but what do I find instead? A creature I've seen once before, I don't know what it is, but it just destroyed my best friends house. I'll call them, The Destructors. I hope my home doesn't get destroyed, I kinda need it. I keep walkin along and all of a sudden, what's this? A tired Earthworm. Well, I think it's time for me to eat, then back to the house for some more sleep. mmmmmmmm what a delicious earthworm, now I should be getting to my house right about...........OH GOD!!!!!!!!! IT's GONE!!!!!!!!!!!! I bet it was those Destructors, they shall die, horrible, horrible deaths. I'll make sure that they do.

Habitat - The Blotched Tiger Salamander spends most of its time underground. It like the woodlands and sandy soil, to keep it's skin moist it usually lives close to small, slow streams. They also often use the old dens of other animals. They live anywhere from Nebraska to Washington and also, Alberta to Saskatchewan.

Adaptations - The biggest adaptation I can think of, is the color of it's skin, it tends to blend in with the surroundings, and that helps to dodge enemies and also catch food

Current News - The Blotched Tiger Salamander is starting to become extinct. What's causing this you ask? It's the people who decide we need more houses than habitat. Well, here's my response. The habitat you're destroying is housing for many small creatures, one of which is the Blotched Tiger Salamander
